Help with bending 2 hole draw

Postby zstevensclay » Tue Oct 04, 2011 8:09 pm

Can anyone who perhaps has had trouble bending 2 hole draw in the past help me. I have no trouble bending the 4 draw or 3 draw, but the 2 hole draw bend eludes me. Suggestions?

Thank you for your help

Are you a lip purser, or do you tongue block? Also, have you practiced it on a mid- or upper register harp (C or up)? It's easier to get the low hole draws down if you practice them first on upper register harps. The techniques don't vary much on draw bends from hole to hole, but on the lower keys you probably have to drop your jaw more and tighten your embrochure at the lip in order to control it so that it doesn't sound like a cow bawling.

Jeff thank you. I lip purse. I'm playing a C diatonic. I will try dropping my draw and drawing increasing air volume/ decreasing air volume etc. 4 draw sounds perfect.
