[updated:LAST EDITED ON May-11-05 AT 10:23 AM (EST)]Just started playing some blues piano.
Was used to only playing the 3 finger Major/Minor chords. Just started playing with the Major/Minor 7ths, Man Does That Sound Cool!!!!

Have a Simple Piano Blues (awaiting some Guitar/Bass from a friend) at the link below (I did the piano/organ, Vocal and drums on it).
If you can give a listen- how do You think it sounds! (a little repetitive- but the future rhythm guitar & guitar solos should help).
It's a Minor Blues also using the E7.
Thanks, and I hope to learn a lot from you EXPERIENCED players.

Hi ResoNut!!

St James' Infirmary is such a cool song. I've got old vinyl versions from Louis Armstrong, Louis Jordan, and Cab Calloway. Note I prefer Mr Jordan's version the best, although the recording quality of Mr Armstrong's version is breathtaking (from a pure audio standpoint).

Every now and then, when performing for folks on the piano, I pull out some ad hoc version of this song. But to be honest, I've never felt any of my renditions of this classic dirge are worth a damn. I really need to take a fresh approach, and give it another try from a new angle.

I'm sure your version(s) turn out much better.

Thanks for sharing,
Kevin
