Where did tape recorders go?

Hi!
I just started coming up with some songs I'd like to save someway other than my head...just realised that I have no more a tape recorder, let alone c-tapes.
Is pc the only way today? I would prefer some portable and affordable device, also an easy overdub option would be nice. Sound quality is not that important.
Is there anything in the market?

Thanks,
Tina

Heck, most cell phones will do sound recordings now.

I often use a recording minidisc. Not sure about the overdub, though, getting a bit technical that. Easy to load onto a computer and fiddle about with the sound later.

Tried that already but the sound quality was way below acceptable. Really had to pay attention to recognize the song. Oh well, it is a Nokia phone...

You guitarcenter has some nice M audio stuff that will work with a laptop and it's around $399 for a whole package.

By the way Don't listen to any one on here about telling you less is more for example "If you want to buy whatever and its $599,00 then by all means BUY it"

Don't let anyone say No you can buy this for $139 and save like $300 some dollars, but an old saying buy what you want and don't buy what you can afford because you will have to turn it in and buy what you wanted in the first place.

Problem is now not knowing what I want, I guess just an acceptable, portable and affordable recorder. Not being that much into Hi-fi quality, there should be quite a few options.
Was yesterday in a guitar shop and I think I found it! It is Boss Micro BR or something, 4 tracks, very portable and not too many pushbuttons (I like things simple). Cost about 200 €, so it is not cheap but still affordable.
Thanks everyone!
