BTW Garp, I couldn't get the links to work, but I found the articles anyway. Mostly old news, but it's a good reminder. I don't do any higher tech home recording anyway...just live recordings of jams at my place. The only time I mic amps is to run my harp amp thru the mains, and then I just find the edge of the speaker, and I'm not too picky about placement. I'm a bit of a skeptic about the importance of getting things "perfect" in loud bars where "the peasants listen with their eyes".
