Gwen Davis sings the blues

Postby watertore » Sun Mar 02, 2008 5:11 pm

Yesterday, I recorded Gwen Davis, an autistic special education student in my HS class. She writes songs in about 20 seconds and they don't go much longer than that. SHe is in her own dimension. Recording her is a challenge. She has no concept of mic use and sings very loud and quiet all at once. Also she doesn't rehearse. It is all one take-done. I like this. She literally did all these six songs in less than 10 minutes. It is great to work with someone that has no rules with how music should be made or recorded. I just start a beat and she goes. here they are. Walter

the season song
the rain song
the wind song
the night song
the number song
the animal song

thanks for listening Richocet!
I overdubbed some organ, guitar and harp on Gwen's songs. Real quick just like she would like  Walter
