DVD in the works - advice wanted.

I would appreciate you all’s opinions on whether a music video would suffer in popularity/effectiveness if the video does not show the performance at all, but rather only shows miscellaneous scenes, still or active, strongly or either indirectly pertaining to the lyrics of the song.

I fear my planned video would be boring if it merely shows me playing and singing. Plus, I intend to use a drum track I recorded, and it might be awkward to show me singing and playing guitar and not show the drum being played.

Any comments/advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Les

Hey Les, just a couple of us mice left in this ole house.
I been planning on doing a video myself. I never get started because it takes away from my song writing/recording time.
Looking at your other video, I can visualize breakaways to pictures and places, other images too.
I'd say that's a good idea.
Maybe set the camera close up, then you can have your words on a music stand and folks wont see it.
Noticed you stumbled on them there. Everybody does.

Another mouse here. I don't see anything wrong with it Les. Lots of videos show all kinds of different stuff and even when the musician is holding an instrument, the sound track is the prerecorded version of the song and not real time playing. Hey, get creative and do what you want.
