Three new songs

Postby CarsickPhil » Sat Oct 22, 2011 9:32 am

I've put three new songs on my youtube channel and would welcome feedback.

Heartbeat Blues is my first attempt at playing my guitar on my lap with a heavy chromed steel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=682u17Poqi0

St James Infirmary Blues is my first attempt at singing(!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQi9-GruHGk&feature=related

Stormy Monday is my first go at twiddling with the guitar while singing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fxKLyyXZo0&feature=related

Feedback welcome on any or all of these. Helpful thoughts so far from kind blues players is that I should shift from the key of E to G or higher to get in a better range for my voice. Practice singing the melody over and over until I am completely comfortable with it. Experiment with different areas of my voice not just the most resonant one from my chest. Put a bit more life into my singing. Use multitracking to make life easier - although my real aim is to play and sing without any recording/looping.

If you'd like me to comment on any of your recordings then please just point me in the right direction.

Thanks
