New USB mic

Anyone seen this yet? This mic plugs into the computers usb port. No sound card needed or preamps...sounds like a cheap way to get some good sounds. Word has it it dont work so well on Mac's only PC's with windows.

I was looking into one of these:

I hear the biggest problem with the usb mics are latency. Not a problem unless you need to monitor while recording seperate tracks. Don't know about the mac problems.

That snow ball looks cool..a little expensive though.
I need something to mic songs and ideas even the occasional jam at the house. Im using Kristal software...Cheeta wave /mp3 converter and right now I dont have a decent sound card or mic..Im using a old lapel type mic that says Compaq on it. I think a usb mic would do the trick without having to get a mixer/preamp/phantom power/sound card/mic setup.
