Good on yer Jro.
Use a stompbox, racked harp?

Still can't get a sound I'm happy with on the rack harp so it was just solo electric with the stomp.

So when is / how was the gig?

The gig has been and gone and it went down very, very well. I did a few standard pub-rck type songs but that stuff isn't my forte and the audience could sense. I managed get people moving and singing along once I switched to Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters and Bo Carter tunes. Add a dash of "Midnight Special", a bit of George Thorogood and a bit of Bo Diddley and I think I've got myself a formula that can please the Australian pub crowd. I've been asked back for a repeat gig in a couple of months time so that's got to be a good thing.

Just found a copy of The Little Black Aussie Songbook. Chord and lyrics for Crowded House, Cold Chisel, The Easybeats et. al. This little ripper is the ultimate gigsaver (for Australians anyway).

They recorded a live album not long ago in a local place, "Down Home" in Johnson City.

Thanks guys. Good food for thought. I'm working on practising some songs now.

You're right about the Australian stuff Lightnin' Boy! I'm very tempeted to arrange some AC/DC stuff for solo slide guitar. Rose Tattoo stuff should also go down well. Dare I cross the line and perfrom a bluesed-p version of Khe Sahn?

Khe Sahn on slide? I think not grasshopper. Once you give em a taste they’ll want
“Baaarnsie” all night!
But the Tats might be the G O .(Bad boy for love)
And Acca Dacca are right on the money.
Have you heard that band called “Hayseed Dixie”?
A bunch of hot American bluegrass pickers ripping up AC/DC covers that’ll rock ya
sox off and have you tappin barefoot!
I’ve noticed acts like Hat Fitz and The Back Sliders do well playing just blues, BUT,
they really get it pumping, almost ferral like.
I’ve had to rub off some of my polish recently, and get down and dirty.
Picking up the tempo helps too.
Seems bogans are inheriting the earth!

Good luck with the gig J-Ro.
