Wonder if Aria's agent in US is having this?

Before going for a neck reset, ask your Luthier for this 2 options.
1.) Fretboard wedging.

2.) Shaving the bridge & re-rout saddle slot depth (if the bridge is thick enough)

You would need to have the neck pressed through some heat/force method like the contraption I posted in my first post. The neck reset is for when string tension has pulled the entire neck upward, from the headstock. Take a look at it again and see if you can determine what is the problem. I was confused about the problem with my Airline. I thought the neck was bowed, but it's actually just pulled upward too far from string tension.
If you want, I'll ask my guy what he'd charge for a neck reset on your old Hofner.

Holy crap. It'd be cheaper to just send it to me/the shop I go to.

Maybe. I bet if I did that they would look at it and then say it's going to cost $500.

More if it doesn't. Also, that's 80 bucks in my town, at my local shop. I suppose living in podunkville has a few advantages. Would probably cost a bit more in Phoenix.

Okay, disregard my question about pressing the neck back into shape. Local luthier says the neck relief is actually okay. What it needs is a neck reset. About $80 if the neck comes off easily, more if it doesn't.

Only $80!? I thought it would cost way more than that. My first guitar, an old Hofner Classical has a really bad bow in the neck and no truss rod. If it only costs $80 or so I might take mine to a luthier and have it fixed.
