Wish I could find a real amp tech in Miami--guy I asked looked stoned as a box of rocks and had no idea what a Kalamazoo was besides wanting $ 65 just to check it out -Needless to say , I took it home and have been using for a practice amp as it has no other problems

This Kal is box stock but I have another that I play out with that was modified by Blackie Pagano and is one of the best amps I've ever played- the stock amp is a sweet sound all the way but the modified job becomes a real crunchy beast at about 5 on the volume

I don't know if you ever solved this - but I rebuild Kalamazoo's for a living. The problem is the 10uFd cap in parallel with a resistor, soldered between the tremelo 12AX7 and the El84 sockets. This cap goes bad, and the symptom is that the tremelo will start and fade out when you turn the effect on. If the cap is all the way bad there will be no tremelo at all. Hope that helps.

Thanks for sharing your wisdom in the forums here Greg, you are a gracious professional and some of us really appreciate it.

Have a Great New Year !
