I remember getting a guitar at your age. I felt something I couldn't put a finger on..but I knew it was there. I found that playing guitar was hard, and took a lot of work, and I couldn't play like EddieV in two weeks so I gave it up like so many other passing things...and went on to totally screw life up. over 20 years later I had a guitar in my hand again, only this time I knew why. My biggest regret in life are all those wasted years when I coulda been learning the music I love so much now.

and loneliness. I been alone for a very long time. .Even with friends,I been alone. Being young and having limited people to connect with the blues. .Living in an isolated place, where the blues is
basicly good as dead..
And it's very hard to get a band together, reason being there are limited blues lovers round here, and especially few blues lovers that are young.

I add this to my list because I am only 18 and although I have 2 best friends, it is hard to find young people to relate with the blues because it is all there is for me.It is my essence and being, and I love it entirely so much..And not many young people do these days..
So yeah, now I know what paying the dues is all about.Everybody's experience's are different, and probably the worst for them because they only have experienced their problems, and not anyone else's.
But it does make me play and sing with feeling. ..

Paying musical dues: I'll be at Broughton Astley, we'll all find out together if the hours and years add up to a few worthwhile minutes.

And Spud, I've been there and bought the T shirt on incorrect/crappy pay packets too. Still don't get paid what I'm worth (shortest queue in the world is people complaining about being overpaid).

Keep on pushing though, the light at the end of the tunnel does stop being an oncoming train.

Nobody has any right to look down their nose at or belittle anyone else who plays music.
Regardless of Pedrigee,,Color,,Country of Origin.

No one is any better than anybody else.

We're all Human Beings and we're all created in God's image.

and we all put our pants on one leg at a time.

I've experienced a lot of "Racism" in this Business and I'll just leave it at that.

Oh brother, I've been there. No one who hasn't can even begin to imagine the pain of a day like that. Like all of the other great posts above show, we are real people here, not online goofs hiding behind a web avatar. You will not be rejected for being human.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with your post. You are just trying to provide for your family and your integrity and dignity as a man shows through, to me anyway. That's tops in my book.
