I had a lot of trouble finding the gravesite, as I have never been here before and there are absolutely zero markings. After driving around for about 30 minutes I finally saw an old black guy walking along the road and pulled over to ask him. He got in my car and took me to the site. While in my car, he asked if I had any Junior CDs. I laughed and told him yes, and pulled out like 7 different ones; I thought he was going to autograph one or something? haha. (NOTE: this guy was the assistant preacher at the Kimbrough Chapel). He then proceeded to ask if he could have one of the CDs. At first I wanted to say no, but then I realized that I would not have found the gravesite without him, so it was the least I could do. I saw his house too, and he lived in extreme poverty, so I figured it would be a nice gesture. At first he tried to take "All Night Long" which I was NOT cool with (do you want my firstborn son instead? Not giving that CD up for anything). I settled upon "Sad Days And Lonely Nights", which I believe is one of Junior's lesser works (though a "lesser work" for Junior Kimbrough is clearly superior to the absolute best thing 99 percent of other bluesmen have put out).

I got the man to take a picture of me next to Junior's gravesite; he had no idea how to work a digital camera, which is not shocking considering he lives deep in the hills of North Mississippi, but just that fact alone kind of puts into perspective how little the area has changed since the 1970s/80s.

Here are some pictures though.
