my whole point is that hering does not give you new screws with their reed plates like hohner does.

another harp i like to use is a marine band or pre-MS blues harp with Kay chicago blues cover plates.a pretty funny "sleeper!"

Harp companies pretty much make sure that the only plates that will fit are theirs and theirs only. I'm sure you're talking about Harp Depot, and they've been heavily criticized for poor communincation, but in many ways, they're really more old school and tend to more likely answer an actual phone call than an email, which in this age, is not smart at all. There's also http://www.harmonicasandstuff.com, but I'd give them a call before doing anything first. Hering does business like the way many other types of Brazillian based businesses tend to do, and timliness isn't a stro ng point.

aside from cleaning on a regular basis and swapping plates here and there, i am an out-of-the-box kinda guy and that suits me. the up side is, every harp has features i like and some i don't, and i feel like it builds a well rounded musician to explore the differences.
