As a bassist you will get more gigs than a guitar player. Here in the St. Louis, Mo area, you can't throw a rock without hitting a SRV wannabe in the head. Go to some of your local open jam sessions or open mics and look to see how many bassists show up compared to guitar players. I've been playing bass for close to 40 years now, and make a very nice living doing so.

They are in more demand. I can play simple blues lines on the thing and want to learn a lot more (of course). I only have my Peavy Bandit 112 guitar amp. Is there a best way to adjust the amp so I don't blow it up to play the bass through? I only want to practice with it here at home. Not gig with it. Any suggestions? Anyone else out here done this? I do want some volume but not so much to lose the only speaker in it.
Thanks,
Mig
